Previously, Raja was the Intensive Care of anesthesiologist and associate of the Department of Anesthesia at Virtua Health (Marlton and Berlin, NJ), Inpatient anesthesiologist at Easton Hospital (Easton, PA), anesthesiologist and chief of the department of anesthesia at Trinity Regional Hospital (Fort Dodge, Iowa). He also maintained a private practice while in India.

Dr. Raja earned his MBBS at Madras University (India) and attended medical school at Thanjavur Medical College India. He went on to receive his ECFMG certification and completed a surgery internship at Lenox Hill Hospital (affiliated with New York University Hospital - New York, NY). He completed his anesthesiology residency and fellowship training in critical care medicine at New York University Medical Center (New York, NY).

Licensed in New Jersey, he is board certified in anesthesia by the American Board of Anesthesiology and board eligible in critical care medicine.
